Coding. A field I never knew I would have liked until I tried it. My first experiences came with Visual Basic my freshman year of college. It was definitely a new experience for myself and a class that would challenge myself. I personally think it was one of the best things I did my Freshman year of college because it has pointed me in the right direction for what I would like to do with my life, and that is to be employed somewhere in the tech department of a corporation.
So far, I have only had experience with Visual Basic and C++ but I can already tell that C++ will be more enjoyable. There is nothing wrong with the dialogue boxes or buttons of VB but there is something about writing out all of the code, line after line, watching it compile correctly, and then seeing it appear on a prompt. That is much more rewarding, at least in my eyes.
There are still a few more coding classes to go and I am anxious to take them, maybe Java will be my new favorite, or a close second at least.

The code that is shown above was one of our class assignments in C++. It is an interest rate calculator and how it works is when the program starts up a message will pop up and prompt the user to input values and it will result in the calculation of the interest rate.
